How it Works
Painting your own pottery is fun and you don't need to be an artistic genius to create something uniquely personal.
This is how it works!!
Come on in where I will give you a quick run through what we will do.
Choose your piece of Bisque (unfired pottery), sit down and wipe it with a damp sponge to remove any dust.
Have a think of what you would like to do, maybe look at some books, choose some stencils, pictures to trace, or draw your design in pencil directly onto the Bisque. Choose your colours.
Then the fun bit! - paint it!!!!!
When you've finished, I will dip your work in clear glaze (that's what gives it the shine) and fire it in my kiln ready for you to collect within 3 days, or I can post it to your home address.
Top Tips
- use only 3 or 4 colours Usually the best things are the simpler things.
- try repeating shapes and patterns
- build up layers of paint to get a deeper colour
- use the colour chart to see how the colours turn out after firing
... and if it goes wrong, don't worry - you can wash it off and start again!
